Good Morning,
I hope you all did great on your November LSATs! I am considering applying Early Decision to my top school. Does anybody have any data/suggestions on the idea of Early Decision? How significantly (or insignificantly) does it impact the decision process? I'm at my desired school's 25th percentile for LSAT and I'm above their 75th percentile for GPA. LSAC UGPA/LSAT search gave me between a 68%-80% chance of getting in, but that doesn't factor in Early Decision. I appreciate any insight you might have!

Hi Mike,

If it's your top choice school, applying early decision there would appreciably increase your chances of getting in. Many applicants who apply early decision and are not immediately accepted end up getting wait-listed rather than outright rejected, so if this happened to you, you could even potentially retake the LSAT and submit your higher score.

68-80% are good odds, and remember that the other parts of your application will account for that range. So be sure to spend a lot of time on your personal statement to make sure you will stand out from the other applicants in some way. If you have the opportunity to visit the school, do so and describe in detail what interests you about the school and how you can see yourself contributing.
