Hello, I recently decided that I would like to try getting into a J.D. Program. I took my first test without any prior study or practice exams. I followed the time guidelines and maintained a quiet/controlled environment. I scored a 151 on the Oct 2012 test. My question is what is a reasonable score increase for me to get by the time I take the actual LSAT in Sept/Oct this year? Thank you all for your time! In case anyone is curious of exact scores LG 15/23, LR1 16/25, LR2 12/25, RC 16/27.

Hi J,

Thanks for the question! Your score increase potential could really be all over the place, and it depends on you and how you study. I've seen students with your score move into the 170s before, so that is certainly possible. But, they worked steadily at it and put their time in. It also depends on your particular strengths and weaknesses. For example, slow readers have more of a limitation on their max score than does someone who struggles with LG (which is extremely learnable).

So, there's not a specific number but you could possibly be able to increase quite a bit. It all depends on the the choices you make to study and the time you put in. We're happy to help as needed!

Thanks!
