Hi!

I have a question on Chapter 3.

My question is regarding the Linear Games Rule Diagramming exercise; page 79 answer choice 8.

I diagrammed it as follows:

[AB][BA] :arrow: [BC][CB]

But the answer located on page (83) shows the following relationship:

[ABC] :arrow: [CBA]

Why isn't my diagram correct?

I tried understanding based on the explanations in the book but it looks like I need additional assistance - sorry! :(

Hi Andriana,

Thanks for the question. As noted in the book explanation, your diagram is not incorrect, so as far as that goes, you are fine. The rest of the explanation goes on to show how the rule works as it revolves around B. you can see all the configurations that are impossible, which means that ABC and CBA cannot occur. So, we showed it that way (and we didn't show it as conditional, fyi). Thus, we took the implications of the conditional relationship and showed those as impossible.
