Hi!

If my writing sample results are pending, will I still get my score on the score release date? Or does it have to be processed to be considered to be on file in order to get my score?

Thank You!

Hello Kate1789,

Thank you for the question. The new policy as of the Aug 2020 LSAT- Flex requires the writing sample to be finalized and approved before a student can see their score (provided that they don’t already have one on file). If LSAC sees any problem—ID issue, wearing a smartwatch, phone on your desk, backpack in the room, didn’t show both sides of scratch paper, etc—they go back in and manually review the session. Many of those issues get cleared, although some won’t (ID, smartwatch, and smartphone are big problems).

Dave Tweeted this today:

“LSAT Writing update, as of yesterday:

• 14,000+ have an approved Writing!

• 2,500+ have done their Writing in the past week and are in the process of being reviewed/approved.

• 4,000+ haven’t started their Writing. No Writing = no scores tomorrow!”

You fall into the 2,500+ that are still waiting. I imagine it might be hard to get someone on the phone right now but you can try contacting LSAC and see if they will give you an update on your status.

Thank you and good luck!
