If method of reasoning can be considered abstract MBT, can't also parallel reasoning questions by way of analogy?

Absolutely, menkenj! Parallel Reasoning questions are firmly in the "Prove" family of questions, like Must Be True, and the correct answer will match the "facts" of the stimulus in that it will have the same abstract structure, albeit dressed up with different details.
