As noted in a prior post I have been immersed in all things PowerScore LSAT. I feel as though I am making progress in all areas with the exception of LG. My study and practice approach is read the setup and slowly (even though the clock is ticking in my head) and step-by-step work the problem using the explanations. At this point I now feel like this is a flawed approach because of the feeling of no remarkable progress.

Any tips/suggestions/best practices?

Hi toddburtron!

Thanks for the post! Progress definitely can be a matter of time, especially when it comes to LG. :-D

Hey Todd,

I saw your post and I wanted to reply, but the June LSAT score release temporarily got in the way :-D

We exchanged posts about a week ago, which in LSAT time isn't very long! This is a test that doesn't yield instant results in most cases, and especially so when you are dealing with an issue that is tied to time-anxiety. I personally would not have expected to see much difference in just a week, so you shouldn't be demoralized by what's happening (or not) so far with LG. In a broader sense, given the type of problem we were discussing, you shouldn't be frustrated again already. It's going to take time, and you have to be prepared to patiently invest that time.

I would again counsel you to slow the process down, and start examining each step until you are comfortable with it. Ignore the time component. Treat it like learning how to tear down and rebuild a motor: you need to know what each part does, how they fit together, and the correct order to put them together in order to succeed! Considered from this angle, it will always be a longer journey as opposed to a shorter one, which should help you have a maximally positive approach to this section.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I am an On-Demand student. Are you able to view my account analytics captured by the system? If so I'm happy to grant permission.

Hi Todd,

Yes, we can see your account results! If there's something specific you have a question about or need help navigating those resources, please let us know! (It may be easiest to email us directly at contact@powerscore.com.)

But, more importantly, please read the advice Dave provided above if you haven't already. :D From what I can see with your course progress, you're partway through the course and have taken just a few practice tests at this point. As Dave stated above, it's still going to take some time! Continue through the course, slowing down to review the questions and concepts you're struggling with. :) This post may be helpful to you as well: https://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/how-to ... ice-tests/

Thanks!

I'm having a very conflicting time with Logic Games. Today, I took a practice test and got 100% on the EXPERIMENTAL logic games section then proceeded to get less than 50% on the actual graded section. How on earth does this happen? They were similar types of games except for the substitution of ONE advanced linear on the graded section. Am I doing something wrong? How can I better prepare so it's not as inconsistent?

Hi shanhickey,

Thanks for the post! There are a few things that may have occurred here.

First, and likely, this could be a case of The LSAT Casino coming into play. While for the most part, both sections contained similar types of games, that one Advanced Linear Game may have tripped you up (which is not uncommon for students.) Or, the second section, while containing the same types of games, may have just been logically more difficult for you than the experimental.

Here are some tips for approaching Logic Games sections strategically.

Second, this could be a case of endurance, especially since there were two LGs. It's likely you crushed the first section, and by the time you got to the second LG, you were mentally fatigued. This blog post has a list of articles that discuss how to improve your timing and endurance: https://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/decemb ... ookmarked/.

I would recommend using our analytics to get a better idea of what occurred here for this particular test. :)

I hope this helps! Thanks!
