Complete Question Explanation
(The complete setup for this game can be found here: lsat/viewtopic.php?f=167&p=88139#p88139)

The correct answer choice is (D).

This Local List question is best attacked by first observing the effects of the Local condition, and then drawing inferences by considering the rules.

If F is the first stop, then from the first rule L must be the second stop, and then M and S must be the third and fourth stops in some order.

Because M must be third or fourth, from the second rule we can deduce that R never exits the van first or second. This information eliminates answer choices (B) and (E).

Because F is the first stop, we can infer that J is still on board when the van reaches F, and so from the fourth rule G must still be on board when the van reaches S. Thus, G must exit third or fourth, and cannot exit first or second. This information eliminates answer choices (A) and (C).

Consequently, answer choice (D) is proven correct by process of elimination.

Hi CEF,

Question 21: if Fundy is the first stop, it follows that L is the second stop. The order of stops is therefore as follows:

F L M S

or

F L S M

R doesn't get off before the van reaches Mineola, so answer choices (B) and (E) are incorrect.

Since J is on board longer than V, it is clear that J doesn't get off at the first stop. So, J is still on board when the van reaches Fundy. According to the last rule, G must be still on board when the van reaches Simcoe. This eliminates answer choices (A) and (C).

Hope this helps!
