Hi there, I'm reading the logic games bible, and has a question regarding Not-blocks and Not Law.

On page 21, as stated in the rule, Q is not inspected the day before R is inspected. And it also says that no Not Laws can be drawn from this rule until either Q or R is placed into the setup by another rule or by one of the questions.

However, base on the rule, Q is always behind R and R is always be ahead of Q. Thus, Q can never be the first and R can never be the last. I can't figure out why no Not Laws can be drawn.

Thanks!!!

Hi Natsu!

The rule says that Q is not inspected the day before R is inspected. This means that if R is on day 3, Q cannot be on day 2; if R is on day 4, Q cannot be on day 3, etc.

In other words, Q cannot be inspected on the day immediately before R is inspected. But Q can still be somewhere before R. For instance, if R is on day 3, Q cannot be on day 2 but Q could be on day 1. Day 1 is NOT the day before day 3, it is only a day before day 3. Q can still be on a day before R, just not the day before R.

Therefore, we can't make any Not Laws from this rule because Q could be before R and R could be before Q. We just can't have Q immediately before R.

Hope this helps clear things up!

Best,
Kelsey
