Hi Everybody!

I have briefly read a document regarding formal logic but I haven't really been able to grasp it as much. Is it very important to pay attention to it and learn the principles involved in formal logic?

Thank you,
Deepthika

Hello Deepthika,

Are you referring to the Lesson 8 supplement about formal logic? As that supplement notes itself, there are usually not too many formal logic problems on a test, so that there may be more important things to focus on. Still, I think formal logic is important, even for giving a better idea what "some" and "most" may mean on a test.

By the way, PowerScore's offerings on formal logic, are valuable and are not as boring and abstract as, say, a logic class at college might be. PowerScore makes things easy to grasp with memorable concepts like the "Some Train" (sounds like a TV show, "Soul Train", that used to be on). So, I would at least go back and look at that lesson 8 supplement again, if that's the document you saw. If it helps you solve a few problems, that may be what you need to get a 180 score!

Hope this helps,
David
