Unfortunately I have no reached my goal, a modest 156. I started at a 140 and am between a 146-151. I tend to choke as the practice tests begin. I also feel like I didn't get to my potential in LG (Can't break 10 right; Gah!) which is really bringing me down. I range between 13-18 on my LR sections, I can feel sometimes my mind beating me down during these sections.

I'm thinking about taking the course over, with a different instructor. Do you think this is a smart decision/I am maxed out with my best scores. The room for improvement is there, I'm just curious if anyone else ever needed to learn the same material from a different instructor. Thanks

Hello, gghione,

Taking the course over can definitely have advantages. It's quite common and natural for students to not have a perfect grasp on every subject after going through the course one time, lol. It's a learning process, and repeating it may be useful to you.

Also, yes, individual instructors do deliver a different experience, even with the same material. After having taught a dozen or so PowerScore courses, I'm fairly confident that while I teach the same basic material as any other PowerScore tutor, the classroom experience I deliver is unique, as are those of the others. :)

So in general, I'd say it could be a smart decision, if you feel you're not making progress. If you're stuck on individual sections or question types, it may also be a smart decision to hire a PowerScore private tutor. Even a handful of hours with a private tutor will probably point you in the right direction to make your self-study much more effective over time. I should know - I do that myself. :-D

Hope that helps,
Lucas Moreau
