Hi
My score has not been improving from the 140s. I am really motivated and want to write in Feb.
I quit my job to do this , and this time I am giving it my all. My issue is that , when I do a full 5 section test about 2-3 times a week, I feel I am not gaining much learning, I mean why else am I stuck at this awful score? - I am thinking instead doing untimed and timed , individual sections and maybe a full simulated one, once a week. ( instead of just focusing on test after test). do you think that might a better strategy for someone scoring so low?

Thank you
-John

Hey John,

I'll reply to the second post here (sorry, busy elsewhere talking to students about when scores might be released; I'll come back for the first question in a while).

In the back of each Bible, I list all the questions we use and from what test. Some of those tests we only used a question or two, so they should be fine. And remember, even if you've seen 5 questions, that means there about 95 that you haven't seen :-D Check out those lists, and do the tests we used the least (or none) of first, then move into the ones we used more of. Again, it's less about creating a perfect "new" test environment, and more about seeing the various presentations they use, and learning from that.

Please let me know if that helps. Thanks!

Hey John,

Ok, let me come back tot he first post you made. From just the basic info I have, I might suggest a different approach. Instead of doing timed tests or even full test sections, I'd instead go work on strategies and concepts. I'm not sure how much time you had to focus on these strategies in the first part of your studies, but it never hurts to work on big picture before putting it into practice. From the sound of it, you are doing test after test and getting roughly the same result. It's almost like you are trying to dig a mile-long trench with a fork. So, instead of digging more, let's focus on turning that fork into a backhoe :-D

Please let me know if that makes sense. Thanks!
