Hi Molly,

If rats had different physiology than domestic animals, that might explain why they didn't react, but there may possibly be other explanations. For example, perhaps rats have developed some sort of immunity/tolerance to the effects of this legume that has nothing to do with having a different physiology.

As for Answer A, which discusses the difference in physiology of rats and domestic animals, we don't have support for this based on the information in the stimulus. Be especially cautious of the word "radically" in this answer, as it is exaggerated and often is a red flag for Must Be True answers.
