After rereading the question and looking at the correct answer, I see that the stimulus does not imply that the professor is one of Joan's friends. It seemed like a random piece of information at the end of the stimulus. I initially chose D because I thought the professor was a part of the friend group. Please let me know what you think about my thinking process for this question.
