We strongly encourage against erasing and rewriting on test day. You need to be able to trust what you're writing and every time you erase you're risking forgetting inferences and making small mistakes that are ultimately very time consuming.

But ultimately I strongly strongly urge you to not get in the habit or erasing your work.

I second Hanin's recommendation against erasing and rewriting. There are many reasons that this is a very bad idea. For one thing, the work that you do in one local question adds to your knowledge of the game and can often be used to help solve other questions.

Whether you use templates or not, this game can definitely be solved in under 13 minutes with the correct setup/inferences and the proper systematic approach to answering the questions.

With the proper setup/inferences as Dave explains above, the 4 global questions can be directly answered with really no additional work. (Most of these should take literally a matter of a seconds as they are simply a matter or reading each answer and comparing them to the completed main diagram. Question 20 takes a bit longer due to the complexity of each answer.)

The three local questions may require one additional local diagram each, but even so these questions shouldn't take a considerable amount of time given how much of the game is already solved from the initial setup.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend that you thoroughly read our explanations for both the game setup and the individual questions and compare them to how you attempted the game. Hopefully, you'll see that with the proper approach, this game is quite reasonable in terms of difficulty and the amount of time that is required.
