When schools mean they want no more than two pages, does that typically mean two pages single or double spaced?

Thanks!

Hi akatormubarez,

You should check with the schools to be sure, as some guidelines vary, but generally double-spacing is preferred.

I hope that's helpful!

Hi Steve,

Thanks for answering my previous question.

Another one for you, if I indicate an internship experience in my personal statement that is not reflected on my resume because of page constraints, will that make the admissions people question whether or not I really did the internship since its not reflected on my resume? I already have a two page resume because I have been out of school for a while now but I still want to briefly touch on my internship experience in my personal statement to substantiate a point I am trying to get across. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi akatormubarez,

Thanks for your response. I doubt that most people would question the veracity of your essay based on a lack of mention in your resume. With that said, the more important the position is portrayed in your essay, the stranger its absence from your resume might appear...is there no way to fit any mention into the two page resume you're working with?

Let me know--thanks!

Hi Steve,

The internship is worth mentioning for my diversity statement. I am saying in my essay that I had decided to take the year off to work at a law firm to support my family. But this was almost 6 years ago. I can fit it in my 2 page resume but I am worried it will look like I can't prioritize my resume and that I am going so far back on my resume.

Hi akatormubarez,

Thanks for your response. If the position was from six years ago, I wouldn't think there would be any question about its absence from your resume. If there were questions, of course, the inconsistency would be easy enough to explain.

I hope that's helpful!
