Artificial Intelligence is computer technology which mimics human intelligence, or the human brain, you are correct. So the computer scientists think they can make AI based just off human DNA (the human genome) but the author is saying our DNA information alone would not help scientists understand how the human brain operates, because that is governed by the interactions of proteins.
