For question (A) how did you make the connected to
“If such a business introduced minor variations into its operating system software, unauthorized access to all the computers at the same time could be virtually eliminated”
Were also told (before)

(which is diagrammed)
Minor Variations → Unauthorized Access Virtually Eliminated
&
“a computer vandal who gains access to one computer automatically has access to the data on all the computers. Using a program known as a “virus,” the vandal can then destroy much of the data on all the computers
to connected"

How did you get to this diagram below?
what were your intermediate steps?

Minor variations → (--)Unauthorized access → (--) damage from virus

because from the second phrase (I would think to diagram in like this):
unauthorized access → damage from virus

making the CP
(--) damage from virus→(--)Unauthorized access

which is impossible to connect to the first statement

My question is what steps did you take to connect the second statement
with the first to get to the mistaken negotiation.
1. Minor Variations → Unauthorized Access Virtually Eliminated
to get to
Minor variations → (--) damage from virus

Ive noticed many passages having been translated in this post.

Hi parisielvirac,

There was a stray comment in the original explanation of (A) that caused the issue here. I have edited that post and then further edited the thread to remove the confusion. That also resulted in the removal of the quoted part in your post.

The issue with (A), which was correctly stated in the explanation but has now been enhanced, is that it is too forceful. It's not an MR though, which I believe then makes your question moot.

Thanks!

Hi,

While doing this PT, I was able to eliminate all the answer choices except C (mostly due to exaggerated word choices), but what made me sure that C was correct was because the stimulus says that "unauthorized access to all the computers at the same time could be virtually eliminated." I actually assumed that "virtually eliminated" meant the same thing as completely eliminated, but the fact that unauthorized access to all computers could eliminated was not the same as eliminating the possibility of EVERY computer from being exposed to viral invasion.

Is this an acceptable way of approaching this question and selecting C, or should the "virtually" have been the red flag?

Thanks.

Hey Jwooon,

The stimulus is comparing access to all computers versus individual computer systems. So, if variation is introduced, an individual computer might still catch a virus, but the business as a whole would be better protected because without that, all computers would equally be exposed to the virus. So, 'virtually eliminated' and 'completely eliminated' are pretty comparable phrases here, but the idea is that a widespread attack is what is eliminated, while an individual computer is still vulnerable.

Does that make sense?
