Hello! Is A correct rather than B because the "elaborating on the differences" wouldn't be the main purpose of the second paragraph?

I see that 80% of paragraph 2 is explaining the different processes of polarity between fruit fly and nematode but I guess that's just factually stuff and the real "purpose" behind describing all these is A.

Hi lsater180!

You raise a good point in noting that (B) refers to "elaborating on the differences." As you note, the second paragraph seems more just to point out that those differences exist, rather than going into depth and elaborating on them.

On my reading, the mention of polarity in (A) and its absence in (B) makes the former answer choice superior to the latter. The second paragraph isn't about embryonic formation in general, which is the language used in (B). Rather, that paragraph is specifically about the point in embryonic formation when polarity is established.
