Hi,

I am confused about this question. Answer choice D says that “common ground for debate may be found if both sides are willing to examine the authority of the evidence on which their competing theories depend.” But I do not see the passage saying that it needs to be the philosophers (the people engaged in the debate) themselves who have to examine the authority. The passage only says “ What would be required to resolve the debate between the philosophers of mind, then, is an investigation into the authority of their differing perspectives.”

Am I missing something? Thank you!

Never mind, I think I’ve found my answer in lines 35 to 39!
