I wouldn't automatically assume that, but I sure wouldn't be surprised! If they go to the trouble of doing causal reasoning, e.g., "King Kong the giant ape eats 500 bananas a day and that's why he's a hundred feet tall", it is likely that a strengthener might be something like, "King Kong's dad, Emperor Kong, was only 50 feet tall and ate only 5 bananas a day." Or, "Mom Kong never grew any taller after she stopped eating bananas altogether."
However, what if there are several premises, and only one has causal reasoning? What if another premise has conditional reasoning? Maybe that premise is the one that the right answer choice'll strengthen.
So, yes, causal will often be in the right answer--but stay awake just in case!
