What is a principle?

& if a principle is used in the stimulus does the answer choice have to use a principle?

Hello,

As noted in course materials, "A principle is a broad rule that specifies what actions or judgments are correct in certain situations". So, "John has 3 eggs" is not a principle.
If the question stem asks for a principle (which is not exactly the same thing as a principle being used somewhere in the stimulus), then the answer choice should use, or be, a principle, usually.

Hello saranash1,

I'm actually not seeing principles mentioned too much in the weekend course book! Maybe in another book...

The problem you mention above, #26: what is that in reference to again? Thanks.

Politician: The bill that makes using car phone while driving illegal should be adopted. My support for this bill is motivated by a concern for public safety. Using a car phone ect.

Hello,

But did you have a specific question about that?

Is the answer more likely to be correct if it uses the word should as it does in the stimulus?

Hello,

Since principle questions often use the word "should", you could maybe say that the politician's proposal is (a very narrow and specific) principle.
So yes, it could be helpful (depending on context) to have an answer choice that also has an ethical or recommendatory charge to it, including words like "should".
