I picked the right answer of E by eliminating others, but was uncertain about it.
Answer states, "...in a wider variety of workplaces."
Is this expression of "wider" supported by the idea that Title VII is not specified or restricted to government contractors for example?

Hi Reop,

That's exactly right. The difference is that Title VII is broad while the Executive Order focuses exclusively on government contractors. Great job figuring that one out!

Hi there! Confused why C is incorrect...?? I though the US Fed Govt was trying to eliminate discrimination in the areas of employment wages hence why Title VII became a thing.... and since answer choice C says it's trying to eliminate discriminatory of disparities in wages, wouldn't that be correct...??

Hi Michael,

Answer choice (C) says it eliminated the wage disparity. Is that true? As of 1965, there was no wage disparity between racial groups? Our passage certainly doesn't support that the disparity was completely eliminated. In fact, it implies the opposite, talking about where the law was more or less successful. We need to be careful with the strength of answer choices, and make sure that we can support that strong language with language from the passage.

Hope that helps!
