Hi PowerScore,
There's probably not a good answer to this but what the heck. I'm giving away A LOT of LR questions on my PT because of sloppy reading. I get them wrong during the test, and when I review them, I get the right answer the second time around and am shocked by how obvious the answer was and that I got it wrong because I misread a word or something of the like. Incredibly frustrating to say the least. Any tips for me other than to just get me act together? ;)

Thanks!
Nadia

Hi Nadia,

It's great that you have been able to identify the issue you're having! I think active reading can help a lot. I'm not sure if you're taking a PowerScore course or if you've used the PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible, but if you have, I'm sure you've noticed how much we emphasize making notes to yourself as you read not only for reading comprehension, but also for logical reasoning. Many students find that identifying any premises or conclusions in the question as they read, and marking them somehow (by underlining or noting it in the margins), can be very helpful in making sure you're correctly understanding what you read the first time through. You might also want to circle key words - especially if there are categories of words you tend to miss a lot. If you practice carefully reading so that you understand the material, it should get easier and faster as you go.

Hope that helps!
