Hi,

I postponed the October LSAT to take it in December because self studying was not working. I have since taken a weekend online course and the advanced logial reasoning classes. Since then my logical reasoning has gone up by about 5 questions in each section but my reading comprehension has gotten very low. RC and LG were almost perfect up until these recent practice tests. Do you have any advice to get RC back up so I can break 160. Should I buy the RC bible? I realize I'm running out of time. Not sure what happened in that section!

Thanks

Hi michellek,

It's great that you've improved in LR, but I'm baffled as to why your RC went down. Typically, though not always, improvements in LR translate into better reading comprehension across the board. Is your low RC score a function of poor accuracy or a slow pace? Do you get to every passage? How many questions are you currently guessing on? If you are having trouble finishing the section, learn to identify the types of questions in each passage that are likely to consume an inordinate amount of time. Usually, those are Global Reference MBT questions, MBT-Except questions, and the like. Sometimes, by skipping 2-3 such questions, you may save enough time to finish all four passages.

You never mentioned the RC methodology you're using at the moment, so I'll assume you're just trying to wing it. If you don't have a solid approach, the RC Bible can indeed help a lot. However, with only 5 days left until the exam, you better order that book ASAP and read it cover to cover by Friday. With such a condensed time frame, you will probably benefit even more from a few hours of tutoring, as your tutor can observe your approach to the RC section in real time and give you helpful suggestions on how to pick up a few more points.

Good luck!
