Even though the inference can be easily made from the stimuli,

Essay. Word  Keyboarding

I struggled with the answers of A and C due to the indicators of "some."

Answer A is incorrect due to "mistaken negation" according to the explanation.

However, it states, "If you have SOME keyboarding.."

Without "some" answer A will be drawn as the following:

Keyboarding  Essay. Word

, which is clearly "mistaken negation."

For me, since it included "some" I can draw answer A as the following instead:

Keyboarding :some: Essay. Word

I don't see why answer is wrong when this can be inferred from

Essay. WP  K

At the same time, the correct answer C states, "...you have AT LEAST SOME keybording.."

E.W :some: K

Hence, from my understanding answer A and C are identical.

How isn't "some" affecting answers?

Hello reop6780,

You diagram answer A as "Keyboarding :some: Essay. Word", which is saying "some people with keyboarding skills can write essays, and vice versa", which is not the same as the more straightforward saying "anyone with some keyboarding skills can write essays", which is diagrammed "ks ---> we" (keyboarding skills ---> write essays), a mistaken negation. Answer C is basically "we ---> ks" (write essays ---> keyboarding skills), since saying you have some skills is the same as saying you have skills. So answer C and A are not the same after all, since they basically go in opposite directions, as the diagrams tell you.
Or, put another way, answer C is a contrapositive, A is a mistaken negation.
Hope this helps,

David
