Hello,

When creating a numerical distribution between the president, manager, and technician, is the distribution below possible?

Good question! No, the 1-31 distribution is not possible because of a combination of statements int he scenario and rules. First, the game scenario states that "Other employees are each supervised by exactly one employee, who is either the president or a manager," so you know that any manager or technician is supervised by exactly one employee. then the rule states that, "Each manager supervises at least one employee." So, any manager will have to supervise a technician, and that technician can only be supervised by that one manager.

Ok, when you put all of that together, in the 1-3-1 you run into a problem: there are 3 managers but only 1 technician. so, 1 of the 3 managers can supervise that technician, but the other 2 managers have to supervise a different technician, but there aren't any. and so that distribution cannot occur.
