The answer choice is E.

I picked the wrong answer choice A.
The video instructions give 6 total possibilities from answers A and E. (three mirroring each other)
are the three (3) inferences to be made part of the rules when building your diagram when you see this rule (without any other rules conflicting with it)?

Thanks,

Hi,

Thanks for your question. The double not arrow means that the two variables concerned will not be on the same team (or they won't both attend the party, etc.)

So, if P is there, Q will not be there: P  Q

...and if Q is there, then P will not be there Q  P

Question 24, however, deals with a different rule: P

So, if P is absent Q must be present, and if Q is absent, P will be present: Q  P

So, if one is absent, the other must show up...the one thing you will never see, then, would be for both of them to be absent, as presented in correct answer choice (E).

I hope that's helpful! Please let me know whether this is clear--thanks!

~Steve
