Hello,

I've done all the extra LG practice sets and the 2 supplemental ones. Are there any other ones on the site that I'm missing? I noticed that there are tons of LR and RC but only a few LG. I wanted to add them to my practice tests as the supplemental section since LG are my weakest section.

Thanks in advance.

You actually have access to every licensable LG out there, and so you should see an equal number of RC and LG, although sometimes we use more LG in the Lessons and Homeworks, thus leaving fewer "supplemental" sections of LG.

Without walking through the materials with you, it's tough for me to tell if you've seen everything yet.

I'm in the virtual course so I have everything provided in those books. The only extra LGs I could find were the 2 sets in the supplemental section, and the Dec 99 and Dec 2003 LG sections here on the site. Are there any more I could do that perhaps I haven't found? This is the section I need the most practice on.

The rest are actually in the lessons and HWs. However, I would note that just doing games isn't the way to prep for this section. After completing each game, approach the review of it as if you would have to turn around and teach it to a class of 15-20 people. That will help you look at the mechanics of each game, as well as to tie in the bigger picture issues that occur in each game, such as how this game relates to others of its type, how similar are the rules to rules you've seen before, etc.

For most students, doing a game once is nice, but they don't really learn a whole lot until they've closely examined it two or three times.

I hope that helps. Thanks!

That's a good point, I will have to try to understand them more mechanistically. I've noticed that basically I can do any game, just some will take me a ridiculously long time to finish. Sequencing comes easiest to me and sometimes I can finish those even in like 5 minutes, but it's the grouping ones that I have a hard time with and sometimes those will take me up to 15 minutes, so I really need to work on that. Do you think I should just go over the lessons on that again? I had a hard time understanding it the first time around, though... :?

Yes, I definitely think you should go over them again! If you had a hard time understanding them the first time, it is imperative to review those lessons--and the concept modules online--that cover these topics. Get to know your enemy, so to speak :)
