I'm having a difficulty determining which logic games i should be setting up different templates for...I never know how many variables there needs to be to set up templates and I don't realize i should've until i review my answers!

Hello Salvi627,

Check chapter 9 out again (if you have the full-length coursebooks), which has many pieces of advice re templates, limited-solution-set games, etc.
Often, if it looks like there are only two or three major directions for the game, i.e., some few "axes" that the game really revolves around, that is often a good time for templates. Or if there's some kind of other limiting factor, such as a bunch of blocks limiting each other's placement, that too may promote the use of templates or even mapping out all the possibilities.

Hope this helps,
David
