Congrats to those who took the December LSAT today! Here's a thread where you can post your comments and questions about the exam, and engage with fellow test takers and even some PowerScore instructors!

To that end, we want to share with you in advance the topics we can discuss, and some things to avoid.

It's fine to talk about the section order of your test. For example, it would be great if you let us know: "I had two Logical Reasoning sections, then two Games sections, and then finished up with Reading Comprehension (LR-LR-LG-LG-RC)." We'd also love to hear your thoughts on the difficulty of the each section, including the games and the passages. For example, after the October 2013 test, folks were discussing the difficulty of the “Prions” Reading Comprehension passage.

You can also talk about the general subjects of the games and the passages you encountered. So, for example, you could say "I had a game about a concert promoter scheduling six bands at a concert, a game in which at least four of eight employees are selected for a research team, a game about five movies shown on three screens, and a game with five lectures on birds in two possible locations." You can even mention the game type, e.g., Linear Setup or Grouping. The same goes for reading comprehension, in terms of the basic passage subject, e.g., “Prions” or “Happiness and Wealth.”

The guiding principle for our conversation here is that we don't want to give other people an unfair advantage on the test. There are some circumstances in which some folks may take the LSAT later than others. If details about specific test questions were to show up on the internet before those people take the LSAT (like which answers were right or wrong), then they would have an advantage over those who took the test earlier. Their advance knowledge could hurt your chances to get into the school of your choice, and so it's important to avoid sharing those kinds of details.

We look forward to a great afternoon of conversation! SO, how'd it go?!

Hey pistolas,

Congratulations on getting through it! That's the first I'm hearing about an RC passage on choreography...

From what I've gathered, the real passages were: free decision-making and determinism, Mexican American political entities, lawyers tactic and stealing thunder in the courtroom (comparative), and perfume as art, not necessarily in that order.

You remember any of the other ones?

Is still true that all experimental sections of a given type contain the same questions/content? For example, it is true that all people who had a logical reasoning experimental section had the exact same questions on that section? Also, are experimental sections of the same type in the same place in the LSAT? For example, for all people who had a LG experimental section, was it always the first rather than the second LG section? I ask these questions because it seems like on some tests people had questions that many other people didn't see at all, even though they had the same experimental section. Thanks!

Greetings Hiiiiiii ,

Most of what you've asked about is not the case. For example, the experimental section moves around for people, and there are different versions of the same section. So, there are different LG experimentals, and they can be in different section positions. It didn't used to be this way, but these days there are a lot of different test versions out there, which makes it very difficult to initially determine what was real and what was experimental.

For more info on the experimental, take a look at http://www.powerscore.com/lsat/help/experimental.cfm, and for more info on Saturday's LSAT, check out http://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/the-dec ... ost-mortem.

Thanks!

Thank you for your response. Does this mean that if I had a test with this arrangement:

LR (25) - LG (23) - LR (25) - RC (27) - LR (26)

my experimental section was the second LR? If what you say about there being different experimental versions of the same type of section is true, doesn't that mean that my experimental could have been the first LR?

Thanks!

Technically, it could have been any one of the three LR sections, but in practice it hasn't been section 5 (and we have no evidence to suggest that practice has changed). So, your experimental could have been section 1 or section 3.

Please let me know if that helps. Thanks!
