Hello,

I have a question regarding my UGPA calculations for a scholarship. I am interested in applying for a full ride scholarship at a local school within the Top 50 and the requirements are a 3.6/160 in order to apply. At this local school, money is especially important as it is a private school and the main reason I would go to it would be because I received a better offer at this school than a higher ranked one.

My question is does LSAC truncate or round up the GPA?....I am at a 3.597 so I am not sure if that rounds up to 3.6 or if they will truncate to a 3.59 ( no exceptions are allowed in order to be eligible to apply)

The scholarships seems appealing as the standards are low for keeping it as well ( 2.0 law gpa)

I am an undergrad heading into my last semester and while I anticipate on doing well and finishing strong I was curios as to what would happen if my GPA stayed the same ( I called LSAC and could not get a concrete answer because you cannot talk to the people who calculate the transcripts)

Hi Bronco,

This is an interesting question. Because the difference is so small, and the correct answer so important, I'm having this double-checked via some sources instead of going with what I feel is most likely the correct answer. Once I get a definitive answer, I'll post it for you.

Thanks!

Hi Bronco,

Ok, here we go. I asked my good friend and ace law school admissions consultant Mike Spivey about this, and he checked with LSAC and then had it confirmed by a dean of admissions. Here's the answer: "LSAC will round up the figure that we calculate." So, that looks like good news for you!

Please let me know if that helps. Thanks!
