ADVANCED LINEAR GAME

Hi, Please i got the Powerscore game bible and training type to help me prepare for the LSAT. There is one particular game i can't seem to solve in the Game training type and it is overwhelming me. I was wondering if you could help me with it. I am taking the test in September 2016.
the question is this:

During a four week period, each of seven previously advertised products- G H J K L M and will be advertised. A different pair of these products will be advertised each week. Exactly one of the products will be a member of two of these four pairs. The following constraints must be observed
J is not advertised during a given week until H is advertised during the immediately preceding week.
The product this is advertised during two of the weeks is advertised during week 4 but not advertised during week 3.
G is not advertised during a given week unless either J or else O is also advertised that week.
K is advertised during one of the first two weeks.
O is one of the products advertised during week 3..


Please can someone help me with how to set the game up. Thank you

I'm wondering if you can give me a little more information about what you're looking for. Is there some part of the set-up explanation in the book that isn't making sense to you? Is there a particular rule you're struggling with? If you can give me some details, that will help me write an answer that will be more targeted at addressing your struggle with this game.

Thank you so much for the response. My issue is how to set up the base to start filling in the rules and Not Laws.

I used the four weeks as the base but do not know how to stack the other variables. I don't know how to stack up the other variables. Hope i am making sense.

Thanks for your follow up. Yes, your question does make sense - let me address it.

You are correct to use the weeks as your base. Once you have done that, your diagram might look something like this:

week 1 2 3 4

Now we need to allow for filling in the diagram with our variables.

We need an arrangement that allows for two variables to fall within each week's column, but the order of each week's variable does not matter. It therefore seems that the best way to attack this game would be to have a setup looking something like this:
_ _ _ _
_ _ _ _
1 2 3 4 week

where each blank represents one variable. With this setup, we can fill in what we know about each week in the two blanks above its number.

For instance, since we know that O is advertised in week 3, we can begin by placing it there in our diagram (in whichever of the two blanks above 3 we prefer):

_ _ _ _
_ _ O _
1 2 3 4 week

Now that we have the setup out of the way, we can proceed into the rules of the game and apply them to our diagram, looking for inferences.

Advanced Linear Games are only a fraction of all logic games on the test, and as such do not merit their own book. However, we discuss them in depth in the Logic Games Bible, as well as the Logic Games Bible Workbook. Of course, we also cover them extensively in our Weekend, Full Length, and Live Online courses.

If you need more help with them, I would suggest the Games Type Training Volume I and Volume II, which contain all logic games from PrepTests 1-40 organized by type, including quite a few Advanced Linear Games. All game setups and question explanations can be found in the accompanying Logic Games Encyclopedias.
