PowerScore Team,

I have decided to take the June LSAT to see if I can bump my score a point or two in order to be a more compelling waitlist candidate at 3 schools within the Top 10. I am very happy with the school where I have deposited (also a Top 10, but here my LSAT score matched the median), yet I don't have much to lose by retaking the test in June.

Seeing that there is only a month and half left to prepare and I haven't studied since the October test last year, I'm trying to figure out what my best prep option is this time around. I took the full online course last April for the June 2015 test and then used a tutor briefly to work through the same class materials (purchased new books and worked more efficiently) for the October 2015 LSAT. I had a great talk with a PowerScore representative this afternoon regarding which materials would help me most to get back into shape, and she advised me to pose this question on the forum to hear from some instructors.

My initial thought was to purchase the Bibles and corresponding workbooks, but after this earlier talk and some thought, it might be the better strategy to just work through many of the supplemental materials I had last year (I didn't go through ALL of what was available) along with taking staggered Practice Tests to target specific weak areas. Because I have the Full Course Materials as references, would it be helpful to purchase the Bible WORKBOOKS (not the individual Bibles)?

Additionally, any suggestions on a top-line study plan would be much appreciated! I originally looked through the 1.5 month guide on the site, but it referenced using the Bibles and Training manuals. Also, do schools look favorably upon those students who retake the LSAT in June--showing true interest/effort? Or is it really just a higher score that they need? (Probably the latter, haha).

Thanks so much for the help in the past; I'm just hoping to give it one more shot (I don't want to have regrets come the fall)!

Hey OA,

Thanks for the questions! I'm going to make a quick reply since I'm heading out of town, and then perhaps one of my colleagues will add to my comments.

As far as the Workbooks, they would help. What you could do then is use the 1.5 month Study Plan, and in place of the Bible content, refer to your Course Lesson books. For example, there is a complete syllabus online for the course (see Syllabus at https://www.powerscore.com/lsat/full/), and the table of Contents for the Bibles are also online, and so when the Study Plan says to cover Weaken questions, you can just go to the Weaken Lesson (Lesson 3). Then you could use the Workbook content as stated. For the Training Type content, it typically matches up with the subject being covered, so you could again use your course material (as in, if you are doing Weaken questions, go to L3HW). It's not perfectly matched, but it should work pretty darn well overall :-D

Every admissions officer that I've spoken to has said that when they see a student attempting the June LSAT with the intent of getting off the waitlist, it's a big positive. It tells them you really want to go to law school and that you are committed enough to really put in a huge amount of extra effort. And also, Adcomms want to admit students. When you make your numbers even better, their job gets easier (see http://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/the-law ... -june-lsat, which you've probably already read), and when their job is easier they are happier. So, you have nothing to lose, and in the process you look better to the law schools and hopefully will do well enough to put you over the top.

Please let me know if that helps. Thanks and good luck!
