I feel like B also violates rule 4. The rule states that "folk is not on any tape NUMBERED exactly one higher than A TAPE that has ANY ROCK on it." Answer Choice B consists of tapes numbered 1-4. Tape 1 includes folk and tape 2 includes rock. The numbering pertains to the ordering of the tapes. Thus, it would seem that the rule suggests that folk cannot appear on any tape immediately preceding a tape with rock on it. Am I missing something?

You have fallen right into the trap the test makers laid for us, coateszac! "Numbered" higher means a larger number, which in the case of this linear setup would be AFTER, rather than before. Tape 2 is numbered one higher than Tape 1 because 2 is a higher number than 1 is. Thus, this rule creates an RF not-block, not an FR not-block. F on a tape with R on the very next tape is fine in this game! The test makers expect many students to reverse that and then find themselves unable to answer some questions and selecting incorrect answers to others. Beware of the difference between a higher number (which would be after, or to the right, on a number line) and a higher rank or position (which would be earlier - 1 is a higher rank than 2, etc.).
