Complete Question Explanation
(The complete setup for this game can be found here: lsat/viewtopic.php?t=1171)

The correct answer choice is (D)

If Z has no options in common with T, then T cannot have L. If Z also has at least one option in common with every other car, then Z must have S (Y has only S, so Z must also have S). Since Z has S, then T cannot have S, and we can infer that T has P, leading to the following setup:

Because only three cars have L, answer choice (D) cannot be true and is correct.

The one thing that confuses me with this answer/question is trying to get a commonality between T and every other car, but Z. Does "every other car" mean "all cars besides Z"? If so, how is it okay for T to not share a commonality with Y, as the above diagram shows? I couldn't find any hypothetical that allowed for T to share a commonality with every single car but Z without violating the other rules. Thanks for the help :)

Hi JM,

This is Local Rule question is a bit difficult because of the complexity of the local rule it introduces. What it is saying in plain language is that Z must have at least one option in common with all cars except T; Z and T cannot have an option in common. Because Y only has sunroofs as an option, meaning Z must also have sunroofs, this leaves T to have only power steering, giving us the entire array of options for our cars solved. Looking over the answer choices, the only one that is false is (D), as only 3 of the cars have leather interiors.

Hope this clears things up!
