Complete Question Explanation
(The complete setup for this game can be found here: lsat/viewtopic.php?t=11359)

The correct answer choice is (E)

Both template #1 and template #3 meet the criteria in the question stem. An examination of the two templates reveals that the only constant between the two is that W is always on the third shelf. Thus, given that this is a Must be True question, you should immediately look for W on the third shelf.

Correspondingly, answer choice (E) is correct. Here are both possibilities with H and P on the same shelf:

Hello,

For q. 18, it states that if Hausa and the phonology monograph are on the same shelf, which one of the following must be true.

I narrowed down my choices to D and E. The answer is E. However, can't the semantics monograph be on the first shelf, too? (if one refers to Template 1 and 3 of the Lesson 5 Answer Key and Explanations).

Hello, sotor26,

For Question 18: It is not necessarily true that S must be on the first shelf. It can also be on the third shelf, with the arrangement:

V
P H
S V W

However, W must be on the third shelf, which is why the correct answer choice is E. ;)

Hope that helps,
Lucas Moreau
