I'm taking the December test and I'm having difficulty with LR questions. I'm using the LR Bible book and for the most part, my challenges are formal logic and I'm stuck on chapters 10 and 11. I want to use the 2 month study plan; however, I really want to be confident about LR before going onto Games and RC. I'm getting frustrated because I'm stuck and I'd really like some advice on how to go forward. I look forward to responses. Thank you.

Hi Denise,

Thanks for your post, and welcome to the forum!

I feel your pain. Every test cycle, without fail, we watch as students get discouraged in the prep process. It's actually really cool to get to watch how various students deal with this discouragement and which ones persevere til the improvement comes, and which ones don't...but that's another discussion entirely.

Here's what I think you should do: work on LG and RC, too. It sounds like you've hit a bit of a wall in LR - that's totally ok, and totally normal - but switching gears can really help out in situations like these. The study plans (and books) are organized the way they are for a reason, and switching between sections will, I think, afford you some relief from the frustration and discouragement that it sounds like you're feeling now. I realize this may not seem important - but I really think it is. Give it a try.

Second, I just want to tell you that what you're feeling right now - the frustration and discouragement that tends to come when the prep really kicks into high gear and progress slows down - is very, very common, and it usually passes. Give yourself a break, and don't worry about the LSAT for a couple days. Make sure you are incorporating enough rest days into your study schedule - again, this is super important - and make sure your expectations of yourself as far as studying are realistic.

I think if you give both of these things a try you will be refreshed in your efforts.

Just keep swimming.
