Hello,

Is it ok to use full LR and RC sections from actual practice tests solely to improve my prephrasing?
I cover the answer choices, read the stimuli, write my prephrase and then choose among the answer choices based on my prephrase. So far I used PT 66 and 67.
Should I also apply the techniques taught in the Bibles during this process?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Hi, Userdeb,

Sounds like you've got the right idea for improving your accuracy through prediction. If this drill is helping you, by all means, continue.

A couple notes:
  • Also be sure to work in targeted practice that tests particular concepts and question types.

You can do the latter by identifying question types in a full LR section, then doing these questions as a prephrasing drill.

When you feel comfortable with the approach and have excellent accuracy, work in timed drills to make sure you are maintaining and improving your pacing; improvement is made via accuracy and speed.

Consider breaking up LR sections into evens and odds for drills so that you get the spectrum of question difficulty.

Make sure you are reviewing your work thoroughly when you finish and identifying problem areas.
Keep up the good work!
