Two questions about GPA:

1) What effect (if any) does a "rising" GPA over the course of your college career have on how a law school evaluates your GPA? For instance, my GPA is in the mid 3.7 area (political science major) but I started with an even 3.00 after my first semester in college (so as you progress through my transcript you start seeing Bs replaced with As, ext). I also have a 3.96 major GPA. Will either of these nuances have a tangible effect on how schools (especially the higher-ranked ones) evaluate my GPA?

2) Are there any GPA calculators on the internet that reflect how law schools calculate your GPA?

Thanks again!

Hello apl1993,

It's hard to see how improving your GPA will not be noticed positively. In any case, how could it hurt you? whether your total GPA or your major GPA.
As for law schools and GPA calculation, maybe these links will help: https://officialguide.lsac.org/release/ ... alsat.aspx or http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/wp-co ... ulator.htm .

Hope this helps,
David
