Hi all,

I'm looking for any parties interested in a study partner for the upcoming LSAT exam. I feel as though it's beneficial to bounce understanding of subject matter off of others without paying $100+/hour to do so.

I've taken the exam twice, and have a firm grasp of the test itself, but have not yet achieved my goal of 165+.

DM (just signed up for this forum and not sure if this is an option) me or post in this thread if interested. I typically knock out 7-8 hours a day during the week at a local library.

Good luck to all!

A study group is a great idea, CPA, especially for taking practice tests to simulate the experience more closely. Having others around you who are turning pages at a different pace than you are, coughing, erasing, and generally doing the things that people do while taking tests can help improve focus by forcing you to tune out those distractions. Then, having others with you to discuss the thought processes that went into choosing one answer over another, and to help each other grasp the concepts and strategies that you are to apply, can be very powerful. Good luck forming your group!

One piece of advice, and that's about the amount of time you are putting into your studies. 7-8 hours daily is a lot, and can easily lead to burnout. As you know by now, this isn't a test of knowledge, and hour upon hour spent "cramming" is not very helpful. Most of my students have benefited from dialing it down to something closer to 4 hours per day, with some days off (I think at least one day off per week is about right) to recover from the damage being inflicted on your brain. In preparing for the LSAT, you are changing the way you think rather than just adding data to your storehouse of knowledge. You're rewiring your brain to analyze arguments in a new way, and that, like physical exercise, can cause some pain along the way that you need time to recover from.

By now you have probably discovered that you can send DMs, and I hope you've gotten some. If not, keep looking for those study partners! Good luck!
