The first question of Game 3, question #12, is a standard List question, so we'll want to use the rules (and any inferences) to eliminate answers in a methodical fashion: pick a rule, find its violations, and so on.
S in 3 or 4 is an easy place to start, and sure enough we find a problem: answer choice (C) has S in 5.
W and Z are in a block, WZ, which can be used to eliminate (A) where W is 4 and Z is 6.
The final rule is that V and R cannot be next to one another. This removes two answers for us: (B) has RV in 2-3, and (E) has VR in 4-5.
That leaves only answer choice (D), which is correct.
