Flaw in the Reasoning Questions

For Flaw in the Reasoning questions, I noticed that some question stems include phrases such as ignores the possibility/overlooks the possibility/fails to take into account. How do these differ from the phrase takes for granted? Would love to clarify this.

Hi LSAT,

Good question! This is the difference between taking something to be true vs not even realizing the idea exists. So, phrases that use the idea of "takes for granted" are saying the mistake is that the author believed something to be the case (when it wasn't necessarily so) whereas the other set of phrases is telling you the author actually completely overlooked a certain idea.
