Hi! I am currently taking a LSAT full length course this summer and as I am looking over my mistakes in reading comp sections of the tests we took, I find myself having difficulty with distinguishing why my answer was incorrect and why the correct answer was. Especially since the RC explanations were so minimal. Some of them even just say "all". Are there any tips on how to solve this or is there any more explanations on the reading comp section?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Amy,

Thanks for the question. The Line References you see for RC will typically direct you to the source of the correct answer. In those instances where "All" appears, it is because the question is so broad that no specific line proves the answer, such as in a Main Point or Primary Purpose question.

As a student in the course you have access to a variety of solution services. This forum is one, for example, and all full-length course students can also call our LSAT hotline, which is open Monday through Friday, opening at 5 Eastern, to speak directly to an instructor. The instructor for your course also serves as a source for answers. So, it's really a matter of what avenue you find most convenient :-D

We're happy to help you as much as possible--just let us know what you need. Thanks!

hi! sorry to bother you again. What would be the best way for me to improve my RC section? I normally get 2 near perfect (maybe 1 mistake) passages and 2 passages that i bomb. So I either completely understand the passage or i miss it as a whole. What would be my best bet in helping this issue?

Hi,

First of all, it's great that you can perform nearly perfectly on two passages. As for the others, perhaps you have noticed some recurring themes--do you tend to make more mistakes on science passages, for example? How do you do on Comparative Reading passages? Also, do the answers to the tough ones make generally make sense in retrospect?

Thanks!

~Steve
