Are the LSATs from 10 years ago significantly different from the more recent LSATs? The reason why I’m asking is because recently I’ve taken a few of them and scored inconsistently. As much as 5 point differences. This obviously concerns me. Throughout my studies I’ve been fairly consistent in my scores. Are the LG sections easier? Are the RC sections harder? Or am I just doing something wrong or preforming badly?

Thanks!

Hello there!

Well, in my experience, I've found that yes, there is a difference in some parts of the LSAT that have changed over time with the introduction of new types of questions, which may make a difference in some test-takers' scores.
For example, the introduction of comparative reading passages is a recent thing, that may not be on the old tests you are taking.
Another example is logic games--there are some weird outlier games on some old tests that I find don't really show up in more recent ones. My advice to students is always to complete more recent tests first, and then do older ones if you have more time and need more practice material. I think generally, the newer tests are going to be closer to the ones that will be administered in the future.
