How much do scholarships pay. If I get a football Scholarship from the school will that cut costs a lot? I live in California and I really want to to to University of Arizona the University of Oregon, ASU or Oregon State university to play football. Either of the four. What I am worried about is costs. It will be a lot of money to go to these schools. How can i apply for scholarships and will a football scholarship cover a lot of the costs?

Hi stresylaa,

You cannot get a football, or any sort of athletic, scholarship to attend law school. Law schools can provide you with scholarships or grants based on your academic credentials, and you can also take out loans (both federal and private) based on your financial needs. However, getting an athletic scholarship is not an option.

If you are instead taking about attending college on an athletic scholarship, your best bet would be to talk to your coach and high school guidance counselor your about the steps you need to take to be considered for an athletic scholarship. If you want to check out some information online, here are a few resources that might help:

Good luck!

Good question. Yes I agree with that in law school you can not get any sports based scholarship. Your academic records does mater a lot. For scholarship you must have a good academic record. It would be good for you to consult about this in your school guidance counselor.

Hi there,

As has been discussed, law school does not allow for athletic scholarships. Additionally, athletic scholarships generally, and football scholarships specifically, are far, far, far more competitive then need-based or academic scholarships. I don't mean to discourage you, playing Pac 12 ball on a full-ride is quite the accomplishment, but it is a goal in its own right. If you are concerned about paying for law school, I would suggest alternate options.
