Hello hello

I know this may be a bit of an odd questions, but are most T10 admissions officers at all familiar with the Talmud?

I ask because I worked for two years on a widely acclaimed modern-day translation of the Talmud (which you can see here: https://www.google.ca/search?q=koren+st ... 66&bih=626), and I genuinely believe that this ought to directly translate to experience with legal discourse (because the Talmud is, essentially, a legal text).

Thing is, I'm not sure that there is enough familiarity with the Talmud for this experience to actually help me out. Does anyone know how well-known it is/isn't? Any suggestions regarding how/where to include it in my application?

Thanks!

I'd assume they know it by name but not exact purpose. So, additional explanation will be required :-D

Thanks!

it is well known to many t10 schools especially the NY ones (NYU and Columbia). This is because there are many Orthodox Jews who go to Law school without going to undergrad. Instead, they study Talmud in Yeshivah for 4 years. Law schools accept the degree they earn from this: a Talmudic Law Degree, in place of an undergrad degree. However, it is generally considered inferior to an actual undergrad degree by law schools.
So, yes they know what it is. But it won't help too much.
