Hi all,

I have been studying roughly 14 hours per week since late October and plan to take the LSAT first in late April then again on June 8. I am starting to do more and more practice tests (one full timed PT every Saturday) and practice sections using the 10 Actual, Official books. I would like to use some of the earlier PTs (PTs 7-18, for example) for individual practice sections while using the more recent PTs for full timed tests. Is this a good strategy? I find that the LG from the very early tests are slightly different: they contain more miscellaneous pattern games, which I believe recent tests tend to avoid.. am I right about this? Since I have lots of time left to study, should I use these 1990s PTs right now then work my way to more recent ones?

Thank you in advance!

Hi B,

I am a huge fan of those 90s tests for several different reasons, including that there are some brutally tough Qs in there, they often show the logic in a very clear and learnable way, and that in LG they often have a greater variety of types, which is something we are seeing again in this era. The last game on this recent November LSAT, for example, is a throwback to a game from PT2, and students who had seen that game had some clues on how to attack this recent one.

Also, LSAC has a long history of avoiding certain types for a while only to then bring them back later with a vengeance. We're seeing that a bit with Circular games in recent days, for example.

All in all, there is a massive trove of info in those early tests, and your strategy is a sound one :-D

By the way, we have many of those Tests from PT1-20 sliced up into specific types for the Digital format in our Question Collections section here: https://www.powerscore.com/lsat/publica ... tal-tests/.

Thanks!
