I am taking the Flex exam and have seen the predicted scales floating around. I am aiming to get a 175+ and have been scoring near the range on regular 4-section practice tests. I'm just a bit confused about the interpretation of the Flex scales because it is different for each PT and because we do not know how many questions (74-77 possible) exactly will be on the Flex. Generally speaking, what is the number of raw points I can lose on the Flex to consistently get a 175 or higher? By consistently I mean adjusted for the scale of each past PT. Is something like -4 right? More for more questions?

Hi Cinnamon,

Darn, we talked extensively about this last night in our LSAT-Flex Crystal Ball Webinar, and showed different Flex scales for comparison. But, the good news is that we'll post that webinar online for free in the next day or two, and that's probably the easiest way to understand the possibilities. In the meantime, 175 seems likely to be anywhere from -4 to -6 on a 75 question scale.

Thanks!

Thanks, Dave! I appreciate your help and will look forward to the webinar. I've been taking 4 section PTs on Prep Plus. Would you recommend just dropping a section of LR to calculate one's Flex score? Do you have any suggestions as to what the best way is to calculate what one's score might be on a 3-section Flex for each PT?

There's a three section calculator inside this blog: https://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/ways-t ... lsat-flex/

However, that's a general scale, and it's why we released special LSAT-Flex digital tests with specially tailored scales for each exam. the above will get you close though!

Thanks!
