Complete Question Explanation
(The complete setup for this game can be found here: lsat/viewtopic.php?t=7106)

The correct answer choice is (E)

Any street except 8, 4, and 7 can be cleaned on Friday afternoon, and thus the correct answer is (E).

Hi,
I am stuck on this question...The last rule states that second, fifth and eighth streets were cleaned on afternoons. Does this create a Not Law that these streets cannot be cleaned in the morning thus inferencing that first, third and sixth streets were cleaned in the morning?
From this I assumed that for this question, either second or fifth street could be cleaned Friday afternoon leading me to choose answer choice B.

Thanks,
Jessie

Hi Jessie,

Not necessarily. After making all of our inferences, there are still 3 available afternoon slots, but only 2 remaining variables that must be in the afternoon (2 & 5). This leaves one remaining available spot, that conceivably any of our remaining variables (1,3 & 6) could fill. So this gives a total of 5 variables that could potentially fill the Friday afternoon spot.
