Complete Question Explanation

(The complete setup for this game can be found here: https://forum.powerscore.com/lsat/viewtopic.php?t=31747)

The correct answer choice is (D).

If both R and T examine G, then Template #2 is in effect:

Template #2: RT block assigned to G

In this template, one of S and W must be assigned to F, which will trigger one of the first two rules. Since G is now unavailable with both R and T there, the first rule cannot occur (no room for X), and thus S cannot be assigned to F. Consequently, W must be assigned to F, which triggers the second rule:

  • ..... ..... ___ ..... ..... _R_ ..... ..... _X_

    ..... ..... _W_ ..... ..... _T_ ..... ..... _S_

    ..... .....  F ..... .....   G ..... .....       H

Consequently, W must be assigned to F, and answer choice (D) is correct.

Hi PS,
I could not distinguish between answer D and E. I understood why answer D is correct: W must be assigned to F. However, my brain couldn't help itself and directed my hand to pencil in the remaining slot for F, which could only be X?

My reasoning; Rg+Tg -->~(Xg)-->~(Sf)-->Sh--> ~(Wh)-->WF-->Xh-->Xf

For template #2, Why isn't X by necessity in F?

Thanks for any clarification

I misinterpreted the rules. R and T examine one computer together but, they can examine other computers, no wonder I was confused.

I thought they were a couple!

Thanks anyways
